"FREE" business listings are anything but!You may have seen offers for "free business listings" in which you fill out a form and a “business listing” is created for you. Most are nothing more than a slick method of getting you to “freely” turn over your company name, email, physical address and your telephone number for their own, and many other, sales teams who will eventually call to sell you an “upgrade" for your listing so that it may appear in the search results for your industry. The simple truth is that for all the money it will cost you, nothing much changes. Even with the “upgrade” your listing will continue to appear on a generic web page along with hundreds of other companies in your industry, ie: your competitors, much like the antiquated "yellowed page listings". Your name among hundreds of others confusing the searcher and reducing the chances you will ever see tangible results. And should you say "No thank you!" to their upgrade, they will still make money selling your company’s information you freely gave them to get the listing!
